Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A is for Aprés Ski

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A special drinking time of the day when the last lifts of the day have closed, normally around 5pm, and tired but happy skiers head towards the nearest bar to quench their thirst. Aprés Ski should be undertaken in your ski gear, favourite bars are close to the slopes, or in some places on the slopes - but fairly near the bottom. Decor should be monumental raw wood for preference and music should be loud, cheesy europop - DJ Otzi, for example.

You may choose to drink the local tipple, gluhwein or vin chaud, or a fine local lager.

The Austrians seem to have really cracked Aprés Ski...

Yes ... many Austrians hotly debate the dancing qualities of their ski boots (I'm unreliably told)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Ian Hopkinson, I'm not sure on your definition... to me, Apres-ski starts after I stop skiing. That may mean 3pm, or it may mean 6.30, if I take the last lift to the top...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Yes, it's worth knowing that many department stores (Harrods etc) cater for the 6.30 shopper. Haven't taken a lift to their ski department recently.

Wear The Fox Hat, I refer you to my vague text:

Ian Hopkinson, what he's trying to say is that some people are lightweights and stop skiing before they have to wink
