Poster: A snowHead

I was told the other day that 7 ski shops had closed in the UK in the past 12 months.
I know that:
Edge to Edge, the hire outfit have gone.
Beans of Bicester are closing.
Which others have gone?

Not sure if sound skis in plymouth are still going as their ebay shop is gone, and the website just states unavailable? and they were trying to sell the business.
Little shop in Jersey called Ski Deep has closed

edge2 edge, Beans, Houghties at the grange garden centre, Aroski, Unleashed, those are the closures i know about, a few other companies have gone down and re-emerged
Tog have moved to the Avenue at Bicester (500m away from bicester village by the big garden centre), Helly closes 2nd January as they don't fit the profile of Bicester village who want high end designer stores

i think this thread needs more context. Why are these shops closing, is it trading difficulties or other factors etc.
agreed its useful to know but don't want to start a "run"..

White Mountain closed their two shops in Walsall and Wolverhampton last year (partly due to redevelopment). But they did re-open a few months later in a farm unit near Penkridge. And I understand they are doing very well selling skis to Germany

Something dodgy going on here
http://www.edge2edge.co.uk/index.html
Either they've been completely reborn in a location near Heathrow rather than Gatwick or there's a cyber opportunist operating.
Either way I'm not sure I'd want to do business with them.

See the contacts page - everything contacts addresses at thetradestore.com - doesn't look right, I certainly wouldn't be buying over the web with them at the moment, but it may be that someone has decided to sell off the stock from a different location without shop front etc.

oh we are obviously not high end designer shoppers then - as OH got a very good jacket in here a couple of years ago when we went to see CEM, about our boots.

edge2edge was for sale earlier this year. l briefly considered buying it but couldnt make the figures work for what i need to earn. i think probably it's all legit and it was actually sold by the insolvency officials / receiver. there's no reason to change the operating model but a move near a different airport makes some sense as easyjet and the other one's carriage charges are a killer to the business model. you'd want to be somewhere where there are moee flights that might include carriage (or have more reasonable rates).

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I'm a little confused, I have to admit - are Edge2Edge still renting? Or are they selling off their stock?
Cheers
