Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone know whether a complete beginner 8 year old would need a lift pass at adh? I know that there are two or three free beginners' lifts.
Cheers

Given the speed most kids progress I doubt the free lifts would keep an 8 year old entertained for very long! Certainly my 6 and 10 year olds were happily going down any blue by the middle of their first week.
If at all possible I'd suggest getting the 8 year old a few lessons at a snowdome or dry slope before you go, a snowdome into course will get them into the not quite beginners class on hol, a whole lot less sidestepping up a few m to ski for a couple of seconds!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You will probably need to take the pass that covers a few of the town chairlifts (signal, Romains? - the Romans mined lead and gold in the past). I took this with my 6yr old son last spring (he's was an ESF 2* at the time) and he was quite happy with the skiing offered so a beginner would be ok. Be careful, some of the blues of the signal chaircan be steep, icy and busy.
If he's in ski school take what they suggest.
