Custom Footbed Questions

Hey guys, a couple of questions:

I have custom footbeds in my current boots. If I were to purchase new boots, am I able to reuse the existing footbeds in the new boots?

Do custom footbeds wear out or have a life less than that of the boots they are in?

1) Probably.
2) Yes, possibly, but life span will vary on the type of footbed and the materials used in construction or manufacture.

Andy H, if the product is well made and not had several seasons of hard use then no reason why you shouldn't move them to a new boot, only things you need to watch would be the volume of the boot in terms of is it smaller than the last ones, the footbed may make it very tight if it is a bulky product

but all in all not a problem

as for wearing out yes they do loose shape and support over the years, your feet may have changed a bit too, so worth discussing it with your boot fitter, worst case you can always try them and upgrade to a new pair if required
