Hi all
Looks like the summer is already over  Roll on the frost etc.
I've been to the following resorts over the years and am struggling to think of a new place to go, travelling with a few mates who are mainly on-piste skiers.
These are the resorts I've been to:
Hopfgarten
Kitzbuhel
La Plagne
Val D'Isere
Flaine
Val Thorens
Meribel
Tignes (twice)
Saalbach
St.Anton (twice)
Was thinking of Italy (sella ronda) but have no idea whats like.....the only fly in the ointment is that we are restricted to Crystal ( work for TUI so get good discounts) and the accomodation in italy looks a bit low rent.
Any suggestions be appreciated.

Try Zermatt? CHF exchange rate is bad, but the skiing is fantastic - good piste skiing all round, amazing position/views, village has charm and some good bars and restaurants - it isn't crazy nightlife but it is there, there is always a party to be had..... Just make friends with the local 'noise police' (not joking)

or across the other side of the Matterhorn from Zermatt, Cervinia. Best of both worlds with Italian rather than Swiss pices.

Can recommend Canazei. I went there with Crystal a couple of years ago. Yes, the accommodation itself was a bit "low rent", but it did the job, and it's a cracking little town. Not huge, but the life's there if you want it, and the locals (and the Danes) are a friendly bunch. And, of course, with access to the Sella Ronda area, the skiing and the scenery are awesome.

Sella Ronda could indeed be great. Quite liked Via Lattea for varied piste cruising. Serre Chevalier too.

Sauze d oulx or anywhere in the milky way has a lot of good cruising for on piste skiers is a good suggestion.
What else are you after? good apres, ski in ski out?

Sauze d'oulx, Portes du soleil are both off the list due to unreliable snow. Have only one week off this year to go sliding and need a reasonably snowy place. Some Apres atmosphere is needed and a small walk to the lifts too.

Second the Canada suggestion.
TUI have a lot of destinations from quiet Jasper to lively Whistler, and you may be a bit more encouraged to head off trail, if you've the want. You would need at least 10/11 nights, but two weeks is better.
Few places offer better snow than some of the Canadian areas.
It is a completely different experience to europe, certainly fits the 'a new place to go'.
Depending on how many there are of you, and even taking into account you work for TUI, a late deal might yield better value.
Not been to USA, but there are obviously a lot of options there too.

2planks, just how good is the TUI discount you'll get? In my experience there are usually better located hotels/huest houses than the ones our tour ops offer, and at lower prices. Based on your previous resorts I geniunely think Ischgl would do the trick for you. Given that you've been to St Anton twice you'll find the on piste skiing better than that of St Anton (just) and the apres just as good, but not quite in my opinion. Could you get cheap flights to Innsbruck then organise accomodation independently??? Try looking at say Galtur or Kappl for slopeside accomodation, cheaper than Ischgl but on the same pass. We've had some great apres in Kappl the last 2 years we've been - ok not on the level of the Moos/Piccadilly. As an example I paid €1050 for 2 adults and 2 kids half board staying beside piste in Kappl. Ischgl 5-10 mins on taxi - c. €14 each way from memory or a free bus.

Bcjohnny, lived in Montreal for 3 months and done 10 days in Banff (2004 season which was pretty snowless).
Boabski, the discount too good to be turned down ! Have been looking at other options for Ischgl and also Selva which is now becoming second choice.

2planks, I love Selva but if you rule out Avoriaz because not being snow sure, you are in for a big dissapointment!

If you can get transport when you're in Schladming your ski pass covers the whole of ski amade, which means you can ski at places like Zauchansee, Flachau, Wagrain with 30mins. A bit less brit than the other places you've been to so far, english still widely spoken. Also features a great local beer, Schladminger. Night life not as lively as say St Anton but till pretty good. Extensive intermediate piste skiing will keep you entertained for a week. Also lots of decent off piste if you know where to go, lots of ski touring routes on the Dachstein glacier (easy bus ride away). Can do a 25km ski tour from Dachstein Glacier to Krippenstein and bus it back. An excellent day out in good weather and doesn't require touring gear, just the odd small walk uphill. Short transfer from Salzburg.

Roy, I know Avoriaz is snow reliable but what about the rest of the Portes ? Had a look at Schladming, especially after seeing the ski sunday blog when they scored there.
So at the moment Ischgl, Selva and Schladming are sitting at the top of the list.

Another vote for the Sella Ronda, brilliant to be able to easily ski from village to village, loads of different areas with stunning scenery, and beer and pizza, what more could you want.

Crystal do Cervinia Hotel Petit Palais. Stayed there a few seasons ago. Its only a few yards from the main lift giving acess to the whole Zermatt area. Good food.

I've been everywhere; for the tourist skier Vail is the best for everything, snow quality, off-piste, on piste and close to Copper Mountain and Beaver Creek; and everyone speaks english. If you are not happy with Vail you should have gone to La Grave for the somewhat opposite experience.

Just booked a week in Selva staying at the Hotel Armin leaving 14th Jan.
Can't wait, bring on the 
Mille grazie for all your suggestions, never skied in Italy so looking forward to the Italian way of doing things.
