Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Prescription Goggles

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hey guys, been thinking thinking forward to the new season and want to upgrade my goggles. I've been using a pair of OTG (over the glasses) for a few years but now would like to get a proper set of prescription goggles and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or experience using these? I have a sizeable budget for these and am willing to spend a lot for the best as this is a crucial bit of gear for someone like myself who relies on glasses! At the same time I'm not looking to buy a brand name unnecessarily, just a quality quality product, if that happens to come from a big brand name then no problem, just want to focus on the best PRODUCT, not the name Smile

Jakejenks, my apologies - it's a terrible thing to do a new poster, but it's really worth a shuffle through the search function (top left on the screen). As you search change the option about half way down to search all thread rather than the default thread title and you should find all the numerous threads that exist on this subject - there is a whole host of great info on this there.

I had a pair of Prescription Goggles from Bolle some years back with large prescription insets but was never very happy with them , inset was quite large and added weight and also sometimes steamed up . Now I use a close fitting small light spectacle frame which I only use for skiing and I can wear a standard pair of gogles over them (currently Oakley A Frame) Works well for me

If you can use contacts and normal goggles, that is probably the best route. I wear glasses most days, but use daily disposable contacts for skiing and hillwalking (for hillwalking only if I am expecting damp or wet conditions when glasses misting up is a pain). The main advantages of this option is that you get to choose whatever goggles you want, and you have normal vision when you remove them (instead of juggling mutilple pairs of specs when walking into some of the cave-like shops in ski resorts).

Of course, you may have considered all that, in which case, I am sorry for giving useless advice . . .
