Have a job I enjoy and covers my morgage but it's only full time April to October and laid off in December and January. Don't have the cashflow to spend those two months in the mountains (the perfect scenorio and what I've done in the past!) so a bit of work PT or FT in a ski/climbing/walking shop for my off season could possibly fit the bill. So if we have any employees of any of the big winter sport retailers on here, do you have any Idea when any seasonal opportunities arise? The next chance I get to pop in I will ask but don't find myself in the major shopping centres around me (Birmingham, Stafford, etc) so as I say a bit of a heads up would be helpful as I'm presuming I'm still a month or 2 early?
Clued up on most hiking gear, ski/boarding gear (BASI L1 qualified, if honest I don't enjoy teaching basic boarding skills), climbing equipment (used in current job) and mountain biking (another passion of mine). What other job roles could suit someone unemployed in the main winter months...or am I gonna be order picking in a warehouse for two months?!?

holidayloverxx, I guess I could but by speaking to a store manager face to face I like to think I can get a good impression of character and if I'd actually like to work there. But again it's a thought if I can't get to a shop.
Alans deep bath, I'm not putting it off! I just dont have the time to spend a few hours travelling over to a city centre during the day at the moment. As soon as I have half a day free I'll go and speak to the stores. 
So no retail workers on here that could give me a guide as to when any staff may be taken on?
