Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Looks like I should be heading on the student trip at the start of December.

Can anyone tell me what the ski area is like this time of year?

I.e.

What lifts aren't normally open due to it be low season? Is the Aiguille Rouge cable car open?

How busy are the slopes?

Is the snowpark open this early season?

I'm aware the Vanoise Express isn't open this week, which doesn't bother me. I have spent a week in Les Arcs in March before and have skiied that early in the Espace Killy. The main thing, which I remember was how early it started getting dark and the considerable less amount of sunshine on the slopes.

Very quiet. Obviously it is snow dependent, but when I've been there at that time of the year most the main lifts have been open and the majority of the pistes are available. I don't think the snowpark was open, but could be wrong. If the snow is good it's a nice time to ski as everything is so quiet, so empty pistes and no lift queues of any kind. If it's a student trip you'll also be making your own apres-ski so the quiet resort won't bother you in that respect.

rob@rar, Cheers. That was sort of what I expected. Yeah it is a Uni trip so I highly doubt it is going to be a "quiet" trip. Looking forward to it a lot as my first visit to Les Arcs was cracking.
