Bored in the summer I usually look what new lifts are coming for next season, mostly for places I've been to or want to go:
**Austria
Saalbach - New 8per. gondola in Hinterglemm. Above snow park and will extend to the middle station of Westgipfel gondola.
http://www.saalbach.com/en/winter/lift-company/news/new-from-winter-201011.html
Schladming - another 8per. detachable chair Mitter House – will replace the old T bars on the pistes connecting with Haus.
Also new gondola and new pistes in Reiteralm.

Solden – new spectacular Gaislachkogl gondolas:
http://www.soelden.com/main/EN/SD/WI/Skigebiet/Skigebietsinfo/news/Gaislachkoglbahn_neu/index.html
New chair and gondola in Kitzbuhel.
Two new chairs in Ischgl.
New gondolas in Zillertal arena - Zell am Ziller and Königsleiten and Gerlos.
There is also a talk about new gondolas in Mayhrhofen – top of Penken
(combined chairs and gondolas)
and Hintertux glacier (gondola Gefrorene Wand)
There were plans I believe for new gondola from Alpe Rauz to the top of Albona in St Anton
but looks like it will not happen this year.
**France:
New gondola Boisses in Tignes. (?)
New replacement chair Chamossière in Morzine. (??)
6per. chair Valleys in Serre Chevalier

Tom W, where did you read about the replacement chair for the Chamossiere lift in Mozine?

I can confirm the new 6-man in Serre Chevalier, Vallons de Cucumelle replacing the three man Balme.

There will be a new 4-man chairlift in Peisey, Les Arcs in 2010/11. I think it is the old Plan Bois lift recycled to make ski access to parts of Peisey a bit more convenient.

and easier to ski after a pit stop at the flying squirrel for lunch??

Hells Bells, Good, this run was the best for the beginners when I was there (first week on the board) but surrounded by horrible T bars.
It is a nice little "valley" but it is somehow difficult to position the chair there to get the best of it. I guess most of the T bars will still stay there.

I think so. I'm guessing the bottom of the new Perchey (?) lift will be on the other side of the road to the FS, behind those buildings?

garyscott20, It could be in plans for the Morzine but might not materialise this year. French forum is one year old and there is not official confirmation yet.

Saalbach had also planned to build a new gondola (pretty sure it was a gondola, although could have been a fast chair) to replace the old slow three-seater up Bernkogel. I can't confirm if they actually are or not, but the lift company did a big presentation about their plans at the start of last season, and this was one of the highlights.

Tom, there are no t-bars at all in Serre Chevalier.

Where are the new lifts in Kitzbuhel? That's where I'm headed next season. I remember reading they were going to replace the 3-stage Maierl chairlifts (one of which spend most of last season being out of service).

Hells Bells, Not Cucumelle but the green run on the opposite side - Barres. It was perfect for the first week on the board.
OK not T Bars - DRAG LIFTS. For me they're all the same

I think it's a little more up the hill towards la vache - so a 150 yd walk to/from the squirrel. Perfect if you stay with ski beat as it' should come right down to your chalets.

I think they are replacing The Refrigerator chair out of Frachey in Champoluc improving speed of journey and comfort to Gressoney. The litle Punta Indren cable car above Alagna has been refreshed too and holds more than the 16 person capacity it previously had.

Mountain Haddock, The old 2 man chair from Frachey has been replaced by a rather fine funicular. I'm not aware of any other chair replacements.
The Punta Indren cable car is not being replaced, but has been sort of superceded by a cable car on the Gressoney side of the mountain.

News about the new chair in Morzine:
A new six-pack is being installed to the top of Chamossière, above the main Morzine slopes, replacing an old triple chair and a draglift. It will cut travel time to 5-7 minutes, and should help to reduce waiting times at Le Grand Pré – a busy link for ‘traffic’ moving between the two ski areas.
Link: http://www.wheretoskiandsnowboard.com/news/les-gets-and-morzine-improve-access/
Also:
At Les Gets, the Chavannes gondola has received an upgrade. The base station has been reworked to offer access on one level and new cabins installed – keeping their distinctive red colour, we’re told.

It's not just the Alps, Pyrenees etc! Cairngorm Mountain says:
"Future development plans are also in the pipeline. CML is looking at proposals that will improve the winter operation but allow us to get a year-round return on the investment that is made. With the success of the past winter we are in a position to progress with a feasibility study on redevelopment of the lower Ciste area. The scope of the project would include: refurbishing and extending the lower Ciste chairlift, installation of a maintenance access track along the length of the lower Ciste chair and the installation of a novice mountain biking route and zip wire in this area, construct a mountain bike features park at the bottom of the lower Ciste and construct an energy efficient new reception building on the existing Ciste site to accommodate the proposed activities."
Hopefully all of this will come to fruition, with the lower Ciste Chair hopefully being a start towards full-on access to the mountain from the Ciste side.
