Hello All,
Going to Whistler for NYE, anyone know the best way to get from Vancouver to Whistler? Is the bus easy?
There are 4 of us going up and then coming back 2 on two separate days.
Cheers

Hi, very simple. PCL run 6-8 buses a day from Vancouver airport to Whistler. You can book direct on their website.
You'll have a great holiday. We've done Whistler for the last two trips and love the place.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

For 4 of you it might be a better deal (and quicker and more convenient) getting a taxi (about CAN$250) from the airport. Divided among the 4 of you this is certainly competitive with (if not better than) the bus: also, I've always found that the bus leaves at a really awkward time so far as flight arrivals are concerned. Often you can't guarantee that you'll be able to clear immigration, get your bags and clear customs in time to get the bus you hoped for: the last thing anyone wants to be doing after a 9.5 hour flight is to be hanging around YVR for 2 hours waiting for the next bus.
We've used Whistler Taxi (www.whistlertaxi.com) to go from the airport to Whistler, and caught the bus for the return trip. They're pretty good, pick you up at the airport arrival area and whisk you directly to your accommodation.

Cheers for the replies, Taxi there and bus back sounds good - as you say Acacia missing a bus by minutes and waiting 2 hours is not ideal.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Another vote for a taxi from Vancouver Airport to Whistler. We had to do this when TO changed our outward flight but forgot to inform the rep. in Whistler of the later arrival time. Our transfer bus arrived, assumed we'd missed the flight and went back without us!

or ridebooker.com (http://www.ridebooker.com/book/resorts/whistler/yvr/whistler-shuttle).
Used them before we lived here, and friends still do. They are a bit more convenient than the Perimeter/PCL coach because they run smaller buses coordinated by the flights people are on so less hanging around to do, and less worrying re customs/immigration clearance.

we used Ridebooker last time we went and it worked fine. Met just outside the security area at arrivals by a rep. We were on the Air Canada flight from Heathrow. They got maybe 5 other groups off that flight, took us out to the bus and off we went. No more than 30 or so mins hanging about waiting for some stragglers to get skis and clear customs. Plenty of room on the coach.
I plan to use them again.

Try speaking to one of the small specialist TOs like Ski Safari (we use), Ski Independence, Frontier Ski, etc and ask them for a quote for the 4 of you to join one of their transfers,

We've used Star Limousine Service http://www.starlimousine.com/ if you want a bit of a private transfer, also used tour operator ones too
