Poster: A snowHead

Looking at prices for a season pass for PDS for 2011/2012 and can see that it's around 800 Euros.
Chatel and Les Gets for example are showing a discount if you buy early but PDS isn't showing any discount except for residents.
Does anyone have any further information on this - or know where I can find it?
Also does anyone have experience of the ski buses in resort? Are they regular? Do they go on into the evening?
Thanks a lot

alj, despite many requests from people each year, I don't think that there is an early discount for the PDS pass. Ski bus (in Les Gets at any rate) finishes at the end of the ski day. I would think that the resorts are all the same but if you mention which resort you are thinking of then someone will be able to give more info I'm sure.

there is a thread about this - I think you get a discount if you are a seasonnaire/ 2nd home owner, you dont have to be a full time resident.

Nadenoodlee, I'll have a search around and see what I can find about this. Thanks a lot. Its crazy that just about everywhere else you get a discount for an early purchase and PDS doesn't appear (at the moment) to do anything.

alj, I would have thought the place to ask would be the Chatel Tourist Office. Which will be open at this time of year.

alj, yes - you get a discount as a second home owner for PDS, and a pretty hefty discount for LG if bought early but no discount for early purchase. I know some resorts have a residents discount and also an early purchase discount but not so far PDS. They mutter about it being difficult to get all the resorts to agree and things like that.
The ski bus in Les Gets does a circuit till about 7.30 but not later than that - not a lot of help to you in Chatel but they may do something similar. It is always like trying to find hens teeth to squeeze information about things like bus times out of the tourist office in LG. They always seem surprised that people want to know this sort of thing!

Pamski, Thanks for the extra information looks like we'll be paying the full whack as we are renting an apartment in Chatel for 8 weeks. Having spent time in other ski resorts I agree that getting useful info out of tourist offices can be tricky. I think I'll wait till nearer the ski season and see what their website says - we'll find out when we get there of course!
