Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We've stayed in Tignes a few times, but only ever in Le Lac or Le Lavachet. We're considering Les Brevieres for next year but wondered how staying there compared. In particular,
1) how inconvenient/convenient is it to get to & from skiing for us (experienced skiers) but also if we were to take beginners or people with very limited ski experience with us.
2) is it possible to get to other bits of tignes after the lifts are shut
3) what's the apres like in Les Brevieres

I like Les Brevieres. It's more villagey than the other areas, much prettier too.
1. Easy peasy. Go in the bubble then the short chair and ski down to Le Lac. 15 mins. (beware of the long chair up to l'aguille du percee, it's competing for slowest chair in Europe
) Red run if you can ski, blue for the nervous - it's flat but easy, though the red isn't too bad at all. For beginners, lessons start on the nursey slopes down in Brev, so no need to do this journey on the first day.
2. In a taxi. You can get down if you're a brave by taking the bus to Les Boisses and then walking/ falling/sliding the rest, but it's further than you think.
3. Vincent's bar (dutch) is pretty lively and has live music on. Then there's the underground club, but that's not for me so I can't comment
