Poster: A snowHead

In between Arabba and San Cassiano, I noted a helecopter business doing transfers to the Marmolada, now I should have asked at the time, but didn't, but does anyone have any knowledge of costs and numbers who can fit in??
Also can anyone tell me why I am asking this in June?

There is, and the queue is usually enormous. I can see the attraction of a helicopter (if there is one).
You are asking this in June because you need to save up as it would be expensive? (Or maybe you are just sad .....)

I once tried to get the lift in the summer up to the hut. It was being repaired, we were sent away and told to try again about four. A bit wary we returned and they run it just for us, unfortunatly it stopped a bit short of the top and i had to jump off.
The night in the hut was great as we were the only ones there.

RobW, if you are staying near it you can probably get there early and not queue for long. I've been 3 times and always queued - last year (worst) about 30/35 minutes.

If you get to the bottom of the cable car by 10.00am there is no problem with queues. It is one plus point for being based in Arabba you can be at the cable car before 10am

For you first run, that is.
Unless youski very fast, the queue will be enormous by the time you get to the bottom. So your 2nd, 3rd run will involve waiting for 1/2 hr in the queue.

abc, I only do one run down and then either ski the path through the george to Sottoguda and catch the ski bus Alleghe or ski back to Arraba and ski all the nice runs under the Porta Vescovo.

This hotel site seems to be advertising at "only" Euro 120 per person last season.
Or you could contact these people to see what they quote you, although they seemed to be from Val Gardena rather than close to San Cassiano.

You know it makes sense.

When I do save up for the helicopter, I would rather go somewhere else more pristine!
