Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Hey,
I've just finished my first season and have started looking for a pair of skis for next year. Looking to really push myself with my freeriding and freestyling next year and have found a pair of
K2
Kung Fujas for half price on the net, only problem is they only have 189cms in stock.
I'm 6 foot and about 86kgs and this season have skied a pair of Rossi S86 at 178cm and I am definitely considering going longer for next year, but are 189s likely to be too long for me?
Thanks!

Without seeing you ski and all that I guess my short answer would be...erm after 1 season I'd personally have said the 179's would be too short! However this is a generalisation as I've never skiied the Kung Fujas...
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Longer isnt necesarrily better.
Ask yourself what you want from your ski? Do you want to make small quick turns? Or longer larger ones?
I'd personally recommend an all mountain ski around 170-178.. I have the
scott
punisher (2010 version). It does everything you could every need or want.

Given your weight/height and that the Kung Fujas are both twin tip and rockered I'd go for 189s. Especially if you're going mainly off piste
