Poster: A snowHead

I wonder if anyone can help friends of mine who have mistakenly thought that I could help.
They are a family looking for a recommendation on resort and possibly TO fro Xmas 2005.
1) Mother skis , father would like to learn
2) 2 x boys 4 and 2 ( by then) - eldest might have a lesson or two -- if available.
3) Must be a 'Xmas' resort
4) Chalet accomodation and child care ( not a creche) required every day ....
Any suggestions would be gratefully received ..

eEvans, if by 'Xmas' resort you mean likely to have some decent snow, Belle Plagne and the Crystal Hotel Turquoise might do. It's not a chalet of course but it's not very big. 24 rooms. I'm not sure exactly what the childcare is but I know at least one staff member is full time with the sprogs. Not gourmet but adequate food. Every one of the staff speaks English - which might or might not be what your friends are looking for..... Beginners ski school (ESF) almost outside the door.

Looks like some availability week comm 24/12 ex LGW (didn't try other airports)

eEvans, We went with ski esprit when my eldest two were that age. Chalet accommodation, excellent childcare, everyone slse in the same situation, I would thoroughly recommend them.

eEvans, have a look at Mark Warner. I stayed in a Chalet Hotel in Courchevel with them before Christmaas a couple of years ago and I think they would match your requirements pretty well.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

eEvans, I'd also recommend the Ski Espirit option although there are expensive. Interestingly, La Rosiere is Ski Esprit's most popular resort in the Alps, they certainly have a wide choice of chalets and dedicated childcare facilities. However, if your friends are prepared to go with the DIY option, the La Rosiere Tourist Office have a list of child care providers. We've had guests use this option very happily. There is a good kindergarten facility in the village, Les Galopins, who take children from 18mths up to 12 yrs old. We are full over Xmas but my son has some space at his chalet Le Sivoliere, you can find his details on www.morealps.com I hope this is helpful.

I have friends with 2 boys aged 6 and 4,. They always use Mark Warner or ski esprit specifically because they have confidence and trust in these companies' childcare staffing and Policy's. This is not evident in all TO's that offer childcare.
