Hi,
As the heading indicates, I'm a newbie!!
30/m/uk
I've had a few skiing lessons in the UK, and its same old story. Friends either too good and have been skiing for years or not interested.
Anyway, theres a 4 day package break in Argentiere with lessons (UCPA) 22-25/April.
I'm just about to book this. A friend is thinking about booking with me but I wouldn't be surprised if he bails out...
What do people think, is this a good idea. I generally make friends very quickly so I'm hoping the atmosphere is a friendly and sociable one??
Anyone else on the forum going to Argentiere that weekend?
Many Thanks,
R

yes, it will be, absolutely ideal for a solo traveller. Have fun.
(I did initially think this thread was about something Richard Branson produced for sticking on a wall).

snowdubai, The UCPA in Argentiere is brilliant, I was there in January. The only small word of caution I would offer is the snow conditions that late in April. Most of the lessons are on the lower altitude slopes so unless they get a good dump of snow it could be a problem. The high altitude stuff is really only advanced and off-piste terrain.
Keep your fingers crossed for good snow or hold off booking until nearer the time and keep checking the snow forecasts (can be risky if the UCPA or flights suddenly sell out)
Good Luck.

snowdubai, have you considered the EoSB? It's only a little later that your dates; if you can get down a blue slope then we can offer you lessons, and the atmosphere can very definitely be described as "friendly and sociable"
Also, welcome to snowHeads!
