Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi there
Looking for any advice on a good mountain restaurant in Les Arcs - probably nearer the 1950 and 2000 side, rather than the 1600/1800 side.
Its for a group of around 18 people for lunch and so want to try and find somewhere where the service is good, nice views, ease of access (mixed ski ability group) and its not too busy...
Obviously would like good food but does not need to be too flash or too pricey!
Any suggestions would be very welcome..
Thanks
Paul

Le Chalet César springs to mind.
At the bottom of Pré Saint Esprit / Comborciere. Used it many times myself.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Looks good and importantly they say they welcome groups! Often hard to find the places that will go out of their way to hold a table or two for a group during a busy lunchtime service, so that looks positive Thanks for the tip and links!

pauliet, take a look at my facebook group (link below), there are various links to places to eat in the discussions secion. I agree with Allanm, Cesar's is very good, does evenings as well now. You can also check out the season thread for Les Arcs in the snow reports section for other info.

Chalet De L'arc ticks the Nice box...but might be a liltle pricey - it's the building just below the top of Pre st. Esprit lift with the flagpole, can't miss it.

Yes, its OK, but well overrated IMHO, & stupidly expensive..... if that's what floats your boat, you could do worse. They'll do any size group, and discount if you book in advance, as will most places.

Hello
Post lunch update...and thanks for all the help and suggestions.
Chalet Les Arcs was chosen and turned out to be very good. They were very helpful in the reservation process and clearly used to working with groups. Easy access for all levels of skiers, but also still on the mountain with good views. We waited about 15 minutes for service when we got there (dying of thirst!) but as soon as we found the right waitress it all happened smoothly and was good food. We were on the second service at 1400 and by that time they had run out of ‘plat du jour’ and ‘dessert de jour’. Good tartiflette though… and did help us out a little on price so was all OK.
So a thumbs up for Chalet Les Arcs at Arcs 2000… good for groups!
Cheers, Paul
