Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

...as per another person's post on an earlier thread I posted, I managed to wreck my knee again - painting some skirting boards (duh!!)...(the other person did it doing some decking)
we're building a hose and so I was on my knees all day filling and painting metres and metres of skirting. Left knee has been trashed skiing (yes...acl) and previously motor bike and has been prone to tearing and other issues when climbing due to the original injury. When painting three weeks' ago the knee kind of collapsed to one side and then that was it - big ouch and swollen like a football, locking up. and everything clearly not in the right place - clonk grind swell. And need to carry on building (and climbing...and in June, skiing).
But....to the rescue come hugely soft and padded gel kneepads for builders' merchant. They were 30 quid but my knees say 'Yes...relief!!!!'.
So to all of you who have trashed your knees but want to save them for winter, and keep them in the best shape possible, I strongly recommend getting these.

, ...er...sorry for the mad typo - for 'hose' read 'house'....(!)
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Frosty the Snowman
, ...they are the thick gel and plastic kneepads which attach with velcro pads - this model:

although my knee is still recovering (from a minor dislocation and meniscal tear) I can work for hours kneeling on these, when it would have been really painful previously, and would have aggravated the injury. Strongly recommended.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Frosty the Snowman
, ...in a very real way, they do! instead of my knee being ker-nackered through house-building and taking months to recover, I can keep it in good shape even when working flat out on heavy duty building work.
