Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Having missed last year skiing due to a new family arrival I am making a break for Megeve this weekend, last minute stylee on the news that the Mother in Law is coming.
Because of the last minute booking and only 3 nights, my skiing partner is a complete piste novice, although he has been taking lessons in Hemel and is quite sporty he should be able to hit the ground running.
Can anybody offer any advice on current ski conditions for novices - I know in Val there are some great beginner slopes nice and high up (grand prix & madeleine for example) is there anything like this at Megeve - I am worried that the low easy slopes with be slushy, since the weather looks to be warming up abruptly.
Any other advice on bars, eateries etc (and current ski conditions!) very welcome,
Cheers
zach

You'v probably returned on your trip now - but I just came back from a long weekend trip and it was incredibly warm with slushy slopes pretty much everywhere other than the top bit of the resort. Best skiing conditions were in Cote 2000 but probably too advanced up there for a complete novice.
