Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi, we are thinking of heading to Bad Hof on 5th march - what is the view of those in the know about likely snow conditions at that point. There seems to be plenty of the stuff for now but what will it be like in 5 weeks time I wonder?
We have been there before - 4 yrs ago at New Year but too bad I had flu and couldnt enjoy skiing as much as I wanted. I also had the most horrible ski instructor ever - he left me behind on a run, then shouted and swore at me - I complained to the ski school about him. So if any one has any good recommendation for a nice(!!) instructor to give me a couple hours private tuition, let me know!

Ah -was wondering about holiday weekends at that time - do you think this will make the whole week busy or just the weekend?

Burgenland, Kärnten, Salzburg, Tirol, Vorarlberg: Mon, 14. Feb till Sun, 20. Feb 2011
Oberösterreich (Upper Austria), Steiermark: Mon, 21. Feb 2011 till Sun, 27. Feb 2011

First week is the biggy although German hols (esp Southern Germany) play a big part too

Yes, looks like you're right so all the above dates will be busy (some more than others).

Fasching (shrove Tuesday) is on March 8th so expect busy weekends before and after this with loads of parties!

Thanks for all the info on Bad Hof - however, I got 'outvoted' on my bid for holiday venue - so six of us are now going to ST Anton instead!!! Perhaps another year for Bad Hof.

DB, flangesax, purplegirl, Bavaria and the Saarland are on holiday that week from the German side, so it will be busy, especially along the A8 axis on the 5th and 12th.
Plus lots of areas take the Monday and Tuesday (Rosenmontag and Fasching Dienstag as holiday and then have a long weekend in the mountains.
Were I not in South Africa during that week, I would have had to cancel my English lessons in my company as so many people are on family ski holidays and others have planned to get away for the Fasching "long weekend"
