xCristinax, Welcome to the madhouse!
Cant help with a group for you, but love the Dolomites and you will be spoilt on your first ski holiday. The scenery doesn't get much better than parts of the Dolomites! Your friends should go, they will be suprised on how warm it is in the resorts. They will get great tans!
Good luck with your quest!

Hey there.
I'll be in the Dolomites end Feb with my family (staying in Selva / Santa Cristina). My wife will be looking to join a group of early intermediates (blue run standard) for some of the time. I'll let her know about this thread and if you do end up with a group in the Dolomites a that time perhaps some of you can book shared private lessons.
|
|
|
|
|
You know it makes sense.
|
If you can't make it work for the Dolomites, there are still spaces on the trip I am organising to Les Deux Alpes 14th March in the group for people with either about 1 week of skiing or 2-3 weeks of skiing under their belts. There is also one total beginner space on the week starting 7th March and so it's possible to do 2 weeks, one after the other. The lessons are in groups of max 4 people so giving lots of individual attention. If at all interested see http://www.easiski.com/SpecialCourses.html

bensporty, Hi Ben, Thanks for your message - there are a few groups going, but not at the time when I want. If we can get a few more people together, that could work? Are any of your friends interested, I'm trying to convince a few of mine, but most of them are pure sun worshipers and not interested in anything that doesn't require a bikini!!

Hi Cristina, I'm looking to go skiing 28th Feb too. So far have only managed to enlist a couple of friends. We are all low intermediates (I've been 3 times before). we are also having problems encouraging anyone else to join us. Are you still looking for people to join you?

Hi, I have many years skiing experience in Andorra (most areas) and Italy (Val Badia/Gardena), hold first aid
cert. Hold ESC senior club Instruc. cert. (affiliated to Snowsport England) I
have also taught adults and youngsters at Ski school in the UK, and MK Snowzone
up to a very good level of parallel turning. Using current teaching / coaching
principals.
Simply, I love the ski/mountain environment but severe financial probs do not allo me the whole ski trip. If you consider it worthwhile and were willing to say supply either flight, accom. pass or some combination I am sure you would benefit greatly form my experience, and would welcome the copmpany socially as well.
I am well organised and able to mix easily with all, and love to encourage fun in a safe environment both
FYI. my dob is 15/11/54 and I live in essex,UK. I can travel 21st/22nd Feb onward
Please do not hesitate to contact me if we can discuss this further. many thanks
Kind Regards, Paul Darrell
please let me know any/all what possibilties you have in mind? I can strongly suggest a company Collets Holidays, they have bases at pedraces and La villa fantastic resorts and huge amount of varied skiing with pretty gorgeous maritime mountains.

Hi Cristina,
I'm going skiing on 28 February and staying at Albergo Frohsinn, San Cassiano, on the £279 fully catered deal mentioned by KaiH. I live in Wokingham and thought about going to Bracknell and then decided against it and went to the snow dome at Milton Keynes instead. I booked a "learn to ski in a day" course which cost £155. I was very worried that it would be too exhausting for someone of my age (48!) but it was manageable. The instructor was fantastic (I think I was very lucky) and he had most of the class, including me, (all of the younger ones) parrallel skiing from the top, achieving a level 4 by the end of the day. I didn't fall over once, which I am very proud of but did manage, whilst turning round to look down, to uncerimonously fall off the button lift...
My husband and I are flying into Venice, as from there transfers are arranged to Albergo Frohsinn for £18 each way. We've booked a 1 1/2 hour private lesson on the Sunday, then ski school beginning on Monday for five days.
I hope you manage to find someone or a group to go with. To be honest, that's one of the reasons I've never been before and regret that I hadn't been more proactive.
For reasonably priced ski wear TK Maxx is worth a visit. I just got myself and lovely "Killy" jacket on ebay for £30 which came this morning and I'm really pleased with it.
Maybe I'll see you at Albergo Frohsinn!

after much research and time wasted in trying to organise trips with other individuals (from forums & net blogs) I decided on a trip with UCPA...not the cheapest option but hoping it'll be most fun & hassle free option for my first trip. I've only heard good reviews about them from friends & on these forums
