I used to run it. Great chalet, brilliant location (well, you can ski back to it, it's very close to the pub the only issue is the stairs).
It's a superb, creaky old place, last of it's type.
Staff are nice this year too, Ron (dutch chef) and Bella (hot blonde chalet girl).
Enjoy.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I stayed there in January and can only echo what Parlor says. Great location and superb food. Completely brilliant, might be a bit cramped if full.

polgster, just use No 1. Perfect location and Peak Ski will get you a small discount on it. For tuition it's much of a muchness.
Great chalet though. Not sure who the staff are this year but I hear they have some great chefs back.

Thanks Parlor, we've got ridiculously cheap flights to Turin (£26 return) and so we are hiring a car. I've read up on the law etc but is it likely that I will need snow chains?

polgster, I've done that drive :
One way totally lear, the return major snow situation...I was very glad I had chains!
The Grand St ernard pass (tunnel, not top pass as that will be cloased) is HIGH and steep/windy on the Italian side.
If you need them...you NEED them.

We stayed there a few years back. It is very creaky but charismatic. The stairs up to the chalet are a bit of a killer so I hope you are fit!
Peak ski staff are pretty well vetted so whoever you get, they should be good.

Stayed there 3 years ago, great Chalet, bit creaky when walking around, good location apart from the steps. As others have said Peak Ski are good, we had no complaints over the food and wine. Be carefull when walking from the botton of the steps to the road at the bottom of the short hill. There are are couple of man hole covers, i walked over one of these and fell straight onto my back
