Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi everyone,
Just booked for Scheffau in Austria after years in France and was hoping someone could give me an idea about lift passes.
Mrs Big k is a non skier and will be looking after littlest k whilst I and 2 middle Ks will be at lessons.
Does Ski welt have a passenger tarrif for gondola to bring everyone to top station or will we have to get a full rate pass for her.
Also any family friendly recommendations in this resort greatly appreciated,
Many Thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

They have point cards, which allow you to use lifts up to a set number of points.
A 100 point card is €32 for an adult.
They also have prices for single rides
http://www.skiwelt.at/en/winter/prices-for-single-rides-on-the-skiwelt-cable-cars-and-lifts.html
That is €15 for an adult single ride on the Brandstadtl gondolas (it isn't quite clear whether that is one way, or a return).
So far as the points system is concerned, the Brandstadtl gondolas are 35 points each (presumably each way), so it looks like it is cheaper to buy single trip tickets.
I don't know how small littlest k would have to be in order to travel free with Mum.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

big k, agree with the post above. All lifts have a points system. I just can't help wondering what a non-skier would do with themselves in Scheffau. It's a very small village and empty during the day when everyone is on the slopes. But there is a snow kindergarten at the top of the Brandstadl which might be of interest for 'littlest k'.

People used to being at home looking after littlies wouldn't have much problem doing it in a pretty Austrian village with an opportunity to go up a mountain for lunch! And during the blissful hours when littlie is asleep, putting feet up with good book.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

There is a good bus service that runs through the valley so the non- skier could go to St Johann or Kitz for a look round and a dip in the pool or even hop on the train to Salzburg or Innsbruck for the day.

Thanks for the help everyone. Mrs k will be very able to amuse herself and recharge while we are hurling ourselves down icy slopes!
It looks like a return journey on the gondola costs 15 euros, so she wont have to buy a full lift pass.
BTW Do the kids 10 and 6 need a lift pass for beginners snowboard (first time) or is the instruction mainly centred around the ski station?
