Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I was in the Reading store yesterday and they had a range of ski jackets with between 30% and 60% off the RRP. Salomon and North Face and some other brand that I'd never heard off that wasn't theirs.

Seriously that place is impressive
Always been a big fan of Decathlon - persuaded Mrs Sev112 and daughter to do an "unplanned" 20 mile detour on holiday in Brittany this year purely to get to a Decathon. Bought nothing in the end (bug sailing , hiking and cycling sections whihc ar enot my bag) while they sticked themselves up in gym gear and ballet stuff !

Was in Reaidng store earlier this week topping up with gloves and liners; will be poppoing back in tomorrow for some cheap fleeces

I was in The new Wednesbury one today and had a look at the Salomon jackets - but not much of a look as I don't need a jacket. Nice quality in red. They had nothing for women in that line though. Did buy one of their merino base layers. Seems well-made and fits well. They had some seriously cheap low-end skis. Atomic Clouds for instance.

The Stockport one had womens Salomon jackets in, not sure if they were half price though. Chris Bish I spotted the Clouds too, good price.

I bought some gloves for £20 there. That's about the third most expensive option too! Brilliant for the money - they haven't cut through after a week of carrying skis.
