Poster: A snowHead

Since it seems no-one in the UK stocks these for my 188 Hardsides, does anyone know if the precut skins for the 189 Kung Fujas will fit my skis?

Wouldn't have thought so, according to the K2 website they are:
Hardside - 131/98/119
Kung Fujas - 133/102/127
The middle is where the skins bite the most and there's a 4mm difference, it might not sound much but that could well cover the egdes on the Hardsides.
The cut to fit skins are not too hard to do yourself.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I cut a set of G3 skins last winter and it really was a dawdle, I have to say they seem really good skins too, don't seem to fall off when wet to the same degree as some other makes without the front clips

You'll need to Register first of course.

Be careful. K2 seem to measure their length differently to other skis. I had to send some skins back to sport Conrad because of this. BD ones. The cutting bit is easy though.

Allow a couple of hours if it's your first time. I cut some new Black Diamond skins a couple of months back and found that the after cut anti-fray 'sealant' was pretty crappy and consequently there wasn't enough of it. Some airfix modellers glue sorted me out and it smells like exactly the same stuff.

Sorry, I'm another contributor to the fact that Conrad no longer has the 188 Hardside skins
I would say go for the trim-to-fit ones.

190cm montanna skins will fit 188cm Coombackks / Hardside / SS - and also much cheaper than the K2 option.
With the 100mm wide ski you will only need to trim a tiny smidge off under the foot for the 98mm hardside.
(they fit a Coomba out the box!).
