Snow Reports
FAQ
Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Okay - So I have no problem meeting the less than 20kg requirement for the airline. (In fact including my boots I'm around the 15kg
).
BUT
In the past I've always packed my boots in their own boot bag and had no problems with this.
I'm flying with Thomsons (charter) - with all the new rules/allowances has anyone this year had any issues with taking two hold bags on a charter flight providing the total weight is under the allowance.

This may help.

Are you flying on a Tui package, eg. Thomson, Crystal?
Scroll down to the Simon Cross posting. He's MD of Crystal I believe.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

SnowboardVicky
, you can take your hold bag plus a boot bag as long as their combined weight does not exceed 20kg, been a couple of threads recently discussing this.

Thanks guys.
All of the searches I did came up with threads that were about what you could put in a ski/board bag and general weight allowances. I struggled to find something that was specific to charter flights (We're going First Choice/Crystal) and packing boots in their own bag.
Different people have different luck when searching forums.
Even the MD of Crystal stated that MOST airlines allow you to pack in different bags (which by my reading means that he knows that some don't!)
So good to know that I SHOULD be okay with the seperate boot bag!
Thanks
