Mounting Point - K2 Obseths

Hi all,

Looking for some advice or suggestions with regards to mounting my 09/10 season Obseths.

The skis are 189cms, I weight 200lbs. Fairly aggresive skiier: for use in steeps and deeps, some drops and air and some switch. No park.

When getting air of any sort, I have a tendency to land back seat which leads me to be hesitant about mounting too far back - any thoughts?

In summary - for use mainly for going anywhere off-piste, some air/drops/switch, no or little park. Thoughts?

There's no reason to mount any further foward than the regular line unless you're going to be skiing switch pow or landing 180 in pow...the more you shift 'em foward the worse your float in soft snow will be. Oh, and whats the "no park but switch skiing" business!

Thanks, I just heard that it's common to mount them slightly further forward so that you're centred on the rocker and in order to engage the tips of the ski a bit more. I've heard as much as +4or5 but surely that's a bit excessive, I was considering +2 just to give me a bit more tail. Centred makes sense though, and that's what I was planning before I made the mistake of looking in to it too much!

I mean that I'm not going to be doing much in the way of spins or boxes in the park, I have a smaller, more battered pair for that! But may want to land things switch elsewhere (such as pow, like you said) - not a priority though.

+3 is always the way to go with ObSetheds, good balance at that point, you wont get tip dive with such a big rocker and it makes your turns more progressive, and for bg i've had every single Seth ski since '99!
