Poster: A snowHead

Having successfully waxed our skis and snowboard last season I'm now wondering if we can do the rest of the servicing. Is it possible to have one vice that works for servicing both skis and a snowboard?

I use a workmate for my skis, suspect it wouldn't take much to work for a board either. Not 100% perfect but does the job.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Alternatively, if the bindings will unscrew, make a small piece of wood with holes to fix in their place. You can grip this in the vice instead. I do this with my skis that have inserts.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The issue with a board is securely holding it vertically on edge so you can work on the side edge angle.

You'll need to Register first of course.

There's a photo on here somewhere of, I think, a workmate with two vertical sheets of plywood with downward slots at 45° to throw your board in.

Yes, that's the bit I'm trying to figure out. We had no real issues supporting either the skis or board to wax them. It's how to hold them securely to work on the edges that I haven't sorted. Are there any vices that can hold both? Or are there any snowheads who've solved this issue?
