Am I correct in thinking most bars now have free wifi for customers? If anyone could tell me best places for wifi connections that would be very helpful

Cassiopee Apts (which is up in the main shopping/bar area) has free WiFi via "Orange". You just log on via their website. You would probably get reception outside the apts on the steps. I bet if you did a Wlan search you'd find a few hot spots.

Snapzzz, not so promising then. I know the tourist office have stopped providing it, but I heard a rumour the bowling alley had it.

Well, i too heard that Matafan had it along with le tete inn. However a quick scan outside revealed nothing but a single locked network. Maybe you had to ask for the key?
Don't worry too much.....go ski and get away from it all.
I used my iPhone on 3g if i needed it. I came back to a bill of £6.
if you are willing to pay then there are plenty of hotsots. The one in our apartments charged 15 euros for 5hrs online.
