Poster: A snowHead
|
Our daughter's boyfriend is coming for a weeks skiing, he has never skied before and we are going to send him off for lessons.
We have knocking around a pair of Voelkl Energy 300 ski's (around 2003) 1.63m 105 65 93.
The boy is around 6' 5" and weighs a mere 12 stone, do you think these skis will be okay to learn.

thunderer, They might be a little bit much - though if he's a pretty "gung ho" learner he should be OK. My son in law - a good skier - is nearly as tall, and about 13 stone. He borrowed skis from us at Christmas - one was a 165, the other a 163 (a little more modern than those Volkls) and hurtled round at high speed on them, on and off piste (including an off piste lesson).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

They'll be fine - a 6ft 5 bloke on 150 somethings would look ridiculous
