cbowls30, no, but I had to pay £200 in Stockholm on Tuesday to get an unfit to fly certificate as I picked up a gastric virus, about which you need know more other than there was no chance I was leaving my hotel room till it "dried up"...
You'll be fine.

Airlines get a bit mental when there's some media scare about a flu epidemic or something like that, other than that I've never heard of any being refused to fly because of a cold. I've flowns a couple of times with stinking colds, no one seemed bothered. I was bothered though, the pressure changes gave me terrible ear ache. I'd take some Fishermans Friends (or similar offensive sweets) to suck during the flight, get dosed up on paracetamol and hope for the best.

I flew to Denver (via Amsterdam/Minneapolis) in 2008 with a 'cold'. It was the worst flying experience I have ever had.
I thought I had prepared myself well with tissues/beechams all in one tablets etc, I bought 2 bottles of water in Teesside after travelling through to departures and had them sealed up in the right way only to have them confiscated as I was boarding the trans atlantic flight to Minneapolis. That 9 hours was the worst part. I think the lack of drinks really made it a lot worse. I wasn't able to get out of the seat and get drinks frequently from the galley because I had the middle seat and the passenger at the end fell asleep. I ran out of tissues and ended up having to improvise in ways that are too gross to describe. My head also felt as though it was going to explode with the cabin pressure/catargh in my head.
Not pleasant. Though to answer your question, I wasn't refused boarding!

nope but did spent a 3 hour delay hid in the toilets at JFK due to a succession of nose bleeds, no big deal have had them every now and then since I was a kid but figured some jobsworth might have carted me off to the medics and been told not to fly if spotted!
