I'm off to Avoriaz for a last minute weekend break at the end of Jan and am looking to organise a few lessons.
I'm a bit late to get myself on any group lessons (plus I'm there Fri - Tues, which complicates things) - so Private Lessons seem the way forward.
BUT ... having contacted the British schools in the area, I'm struggling to justify paying £130 + for a 2hr private lesson.
I appreciate that this seems to be the going-rate for the Brit ski schools in the area, and that the instructors are probably excellent , but I can't quite bring myself to pay that much.
So, I wondered if anyone had any experience of schools such as Evolution 2 (aka Ecole de Glisse) or the other slightly cheaper options? Or if anyone had any alternative suggestions?

Not familiar with any other than the British schools, but you will get hell of a lot out of private lessons, a magnitude more than any group lesson. What are Evolution 2 charging?

Haven't got their email in front of me, but off the top of my head Evo2 are around 70 Euros for a 2hr lesson (vs around £130 for the Brit schools).

We had a couple of private lessons from Ecole de Glisse (Evolution2) when we were in Avoriaz a couple of years ago. Very good lessons with Jerome for our party of four who were all improving red run skiers at the time.
Can't remember what we paid, but recall that they were very much cheaper than the Brit schools. One of our guys was a bit frustrated by the (slightly) limited English of the instructor, but I thought the instruction was excellent and wouldn't have said the language was a problem. Think my friend is quite analytical, so likes to debate the finer points, whereas I'm happy to copy the instructor's technique!
Definitely a positive experience.

I've been trying to remember his name, but no luck. His English was decent - not native speaker fluent, but I don't recall any difficulty getting his points across - and his attitude made the lessons fun. There weren't any "Eureka!" moments that massively improved my skiing, but I think the lessons helped me cope with the choppy snow that we had at the end of the week.
For reference, I'm an intermediate who's comfortable on middling reds.
