Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Off Piste Guiding & Ice Driving In Val Thorens?

We've used ski guides off piste before in Val D'Isere (Alpine Experience, who were excellent) but not in Val Thorens.

We are off to Val T on Boxing Day Very Happy and are interested in some off piste skiing there. Can any snowHeads recommend a good off piste company there?

Also, has anyone out there tried the ice driving circuit in Val Thorens? I quite fancy it but can't find any details of prices or booking arrangements. Val T being Val T I somehow don't imagine it will be cheap....

I have heard that a day driving on the ice can cost as much as 500€, always wanted ago myself but 500€!! Can do it on the road for free!

and do it on the roads for free - the locals seem to !! If you are really wanting to do it prices here http://www.valthorens.com/TARIF_IDA_09.pdf. Someone was having a burn round the VT track today but doesnt seem to be used too much so guess you could negotiate but I have to say didnt look terribly exciting.
