Hi there,
Myself and fiance have just booked one leg of our honeymoon to Les Deux Alpes at the start of March next year. Can anyone give us any advice about what to expect from the snow conditions and weather in general this time of year? Are there any area which are better than others at that time? We are both intermediate level, lookng to improve our technique. We're also staying at the Hotel Aalborg and wondered if anyone might be able to give us some reviews of it? Finally, are there any good ski schools where I can get one-one-one tutition for the first few days and how much roughly would I need to save?

Should be fine. Can be a good idea to stay high as spring approaches - but OTOH it can be very good (especially for intermediates) on the Pied Moutet side of the valley. Don't know anything about the Aalbourg (am a Lutins fan myself). Ski school? easiski has a justifiably enthusiastic fan club here.

I went in March a couple of years ago and it was absolutely amazing - love 2alpes.
We found the Vallee Blanche/ Pied Moutet side pretty slushy towards the bottom of the runs, but we only did one very sunny afternoon on this side, and the runs are nice.
Needless to say runs beneath the village prob won't be open - they had no cover at all when we were there.
But all that still leaves the main part of the ski area, which just keeps going further and further back, right up to the glacier - there are some cracking itineries linking runs from the top of the glacier all the way back to resort.
The glacier is huge with cruisy runways and big views, everything in the middle is fantastic - depending on confidence, all reds are great, the couloiur black (you will see it from the gondola on your way up, to your right when you are really high), gets very mogully and has a difficult exit if nervous, sometimes the blacks down to resort can be in tough condition - diable has great views, but was very icy when we were there.
Great resort though, hope you have a good time!

Fair-dos, I bow to the greater wisdom. I think I remember one run (maybe the one down to Mont de Lans?) that didn't have any - but it was a while back.
