Hello All,
I have a question:
How does everyone keep their goggles safe in their hold luggage?
We usually keep the goggles in the (thin) plastic boxes that they came in, however they are getting quite knackered now so wondered if anyone had a case that they use, or any other suggestion...
I've had a look on the interweb and can see plenty of Dakine cases, however, they don't look very resistant to knocks. I tried searching for a hard case but didn't find any...
Thanks!

Keep them in your helmet
Failing that jacket pocket or inside boot etc

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

junitrules, Welcome to
Another vote for inside a ski boot or careful packing surrounded by t shirts and socks.
The only time I broke a pair was when I had them in my carry on hand baggage.
I always get more scratches on them whilst in resort and they are in use or hanging arround the accomodation!

How do you keep anything safe in your hold luggage without a product specific case?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Helmet or boot seems to work fine for me too.

Another vote for inside your helmet. I can't imagine there being enough room inside my boots: I've either got big goggles or small boots!

Mine just about fit in my boots. After all they are slightly smaller than my feet!

Being a snowboarder, and having my own board, my goggles go within the bindings, the rigid surroundings providing the protection. Prior to that they went in my boots. They did go in my hand luggage once, but that was because I almost forgot to pack them so were thrown in last minute!

You know it makes sense.

junitrules, I kept mine in my helmet, someone knocked it over they fell out and then they sat on them, cracking the lens...

Helmet - good shout!...
Didn't think of that as I haven't had one in the past but will have one next time I go...
Sorted!
Although, those cases look quite useful, Megamum, thanks!

I put my helmet in han d luggage and goggles in that. But I do have a soft case... one of the scuba mask cases... perfect for goggles and they scrunch up in a ski pack for lunch stops or taking a spare pair.
