Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

rental plates or just straight on

My first skis were ex demos so they came with a rental plate, at the time i had no idea as i'd only ever used rental equipment so to me they were just normal. I've recently acquired another set of skis and being second hand they have bindings on but obviously no rental plate and the guy had bigger feet than me so i'm off to EB in Manchester to get them to move the bindings to fit my boots (warn me now if there is some magical mystical way to make them fit without re-drilling) i'm ok with this, it's all a learning curve for me.

my questions are
. is there any benefit to a rental plate other than you can move the bindings around to fit different boots
. are rental plates specific to bindings and if so how specific, to manufacturer or down to model
. if there is anywhere in the Manchester area other than EB which you would recommend over them please let me know
. i'm sure i saw somewhere a price of £25-40 for re-mounting bindings, does this sound about right?
