Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mike3000, ,, I dont think there are some very near the Airport,,, is a very little airport,, but look for Aix-les-Bain,, A town more near the airport of Chambery???

Chambery town is near, too. I can't remember a hotel near the airport either - though there is a good big supermarket very close by. Where are you heading to (or from)?

Mike3000, we go to one near the motorway exit at Pontcharra. It is called the Hotel Vauban. http://www.google.co.uk/maps/place?cid=14681955295849147326&q=hotel+vauban+pontcharra&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=hotel+vauban&hnear=Pontcharra,+France.

It is reasonably priced, and about 15 - 20 minutes by car from the airport. It has a decent evening menu, and reasonable breakfast. There is a bakers shop down the road that sells the ususal and a petrol station across the road that sells beers. We have stayed there 3 or 4 times, and it is fine. Although near the autoroute it is quiet and the staff are nice. It is a Logis, so bookable through the Logis website too. The hotel is also near a fort designed by Vauban, which is worth a mooch around if you have time.

We have stayed in Voglans in a cheapo hotel chain called Hotel Quick Palace too. It is like a forumule 1. I'd rather stay at Pontcharra.
