things have started opening up in the past 24-36 hours roadswise, skiing is on!

el Hen, Not sure where your from but the conditions up here have been hellish and your 'oops' almost gloating. The country was pretty much Stormbound Sunday , Cairngorm dug themselves out yesterday and they are open for business today. Lecht , shut , snowgates closed , Glenshee I believe is currently accessible for the North. Perth has had its main artery roads shut on numerous occassions over the last few days , so even if the snow resorts were open most would not be getting to the east mountains.
But with good weather over the next few days , the main roads will get cleared , the pistes will get bashed and I will be skiing on Thursday and then over the weekend . This pattern of ski days will be the same for hopefully most of the coming season , with a few weeks break at xmas and easter to ski abroad. It's still only November and will happily take a few days of chaos to build a base and put down some powder for us to enjoy. I'm just glad I can jump in a car and go skiing on a whim.
It can even happen in France , was there over last New Year , flights cancelled , motorways blocked , pistes not opening until lunch and lifts shut for two days. Some lucky sods got sent back from Geneva , given a hotel for 4 days and told to come back after that to get a flight home.
Go enjoy shoogly, , will be fantastic....Cairngorm is shut on Monday though as annual staff training day is on. Looks like Glenshee or the West if open could be busy.

Friday 3rd December: Ski Hire will be closed for technical staff training on Friday all day. Please hire in the village. Hire will re - open on Saturday 4th Dec.
Monday 6th December: CairnGorm Mountain facilities will be closed for pre season staff training. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday 7th. nh

yep caingorm is closed monday for staff training. 3 of us are traveling up (weather and roads permiting) from North Wales on monday early morning, planning on getting a half day in at glenshee before driving upto the digs in Carrbridge ready for a day in Avimore on the tuesday before drving back to North Wales Tuesday night.
early start 4am on monday morning but it will be worth  will be nice to get a cheeky couple of days skiing in before xmas.

As all roads are open.
IMHO fairly impressed that they were only shut for 2 days given the huge volume of drifting snow.
