Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

has anybody used it before?

looking at it as an option to get to les Arcs in jan from london.

their main website seems to be down and wont give me any prices/timetables but there seems to be lots of similar trains priced just over the 100 quid mark.

can anyone please point me in the right direction and anyone who has used it, would you advise it over air travel?

thanks alot

Train is by far the best option for les arcs. les arcs is a very short distance from bourg st maurice and if you are going to arc 1600 you can take the funicular railway from bourg st maurice station. Are you wanting to book the direct eurostar to bourg st maurice or eurostar to paris and then change on to TGV or sleeper. If you want the direct eurostar I'd book with eurostar. If you need a connection in france try raileurope. A website called snowcarbon has more info on travel by train to ski resorts.

jimmi85, We did direct Eurostar from St Pancras to Bourg St Maurice last year & thought it so good we're doing the same again this year, so that's a thumbs up for the train from me snowHead
We prefered it to flying for several reasons including:
- the better baggage allowance (hand luggage, skis, 2 big bags per person allowed - we didn't take nearly that amount!!!)
- the very short transfer distance to resort
- the removal of the need to stand around playing "will my bags arrive" by a carousel on arrival as you have them with you on the train

We did the overnight trains so got 2 extra days skiing into the bargain, but that's not everyone's cup of tea.

You can book the direct Eurostar via their website really easily.
