When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi

Can anyone help me with replacment heel plates for Nordica 783 boots. I bought them second hand last year and after only one outing the plates have crumbled. They are size 6 / 25.0 and the boots are now apparently out of production.

I can have them engineered at work if necessary, but I am not sure what material to use. We have hard acrylic available. Will that work? Or should I try something witha bit of give in it?

Any help would be gratefully received.

fionaocl, Try Anything Technical in Kendal - http://www.skiequipmentuk.com/ they stock Nordica spares of this type, however if they actually did "crumble" rather than just being worn it sounds like the boots may be heading South too?
