Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

montriond to morzine??

hey snowheads,thinking of booking a chalet in montriond for the 15th dec can anyone tell me what the village is like to stay in?also how far is it from the centre of morzine and it is easy enough to get to and from morzine,

i know we cant predict the weather but what are conditions generally like at this time of year and roughly how much skiable terrain is usually open

tman80, Montriond is very pleasant but iirc has one bar and one restaurant. It is not easy walking distance from Morzine. Well, not in my opinion.

Snow levels week before Christmas? Well... I have seen excellent conditions whereas this last year we had no snow at all until the Wednesday, at which point it all arrived in large quantity all at once. But you wouldn't have got any skiing in.

If this is your only ski week of the year? Pick a time a little more snow sure.

Nadenoodlee, you sure December 2011? My recollection is that we had no snow at all until the 16th or 17th? December 2010 a different story.
