Some snow reports now seem to be prefixed by the nationality of the resort. Doesn't really seem necessary, isn't being done consistently and won't work in all cases, e.g. Portes du Soleil.
Can we just go back to resort names please?

Could need some form of complex single transferable alternative first past the proportional referendum to resolve various national conundrums...
I quite liked it. Can't say I'm too bothered.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I wonder if it's admin, he was trying to get folk to post more snore reports in his email today. I'm not that bothered unless it's not quite right. the Ski Amade change is a bit random.

holidayloverxx, I think you may have hit on the reason - it makes it easier to put the weather head report together I guess.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Freudian slip? "snore" above should say "snow" but I'm not going to edit it

Would be nice if admin explained himself about the topic name changes. Not too comfortable with the fact the admin is editing content submitted by snowheads. I can see what's being attempted but it's a bit of a hack due to the limitations of the forum technology. A simple hierarchical topic feature is required so that new threads can be added or tagged to an appropriate parent, as in "Ski Amade" thread is added / tagged to "Austria". This would then allow users to optionally browse by say Country. Though I'm sure most snowheads can find the report they're interested in pretty quickly as it is. Or how about a mash up using google maps, pin each report thread to a map in the appropriate place.

waynos, your "simple hierarchical topic feature" would take several days of development. Are you going to pay for that? Then shut up and let Admin tag stuff. You may live there and be aware, but not everyone knows what the ski amade is or where it is - could you name all the resorts of Les Sybelles and pinpoint them on a map withouth looking them up>

I certainly couldn't, but I'm not sure I'd be looking at snow reports for somewhere whose nationality I had no idea of.

Thanks for telling me to shut, very polite of you. I know exactly how much effort and cost are associated with development thanks. If snowheads wants to keep successful, growing users, attracting advertiser, etc then at some point yes money will probably need spending to bring the forum platform up to date. I don't know what the future ambitions for snowheads is or it's financial situation so maybe what you see is what you'll always get.

Well we now have a title which list just 2 regions of 5 regions in ski amade. I agree it's not a simple task to name and identify an area and I did say I understood what the renaming was trying to achieve.

It does make it slightly harder to skim the list and spot a resort.
Before you ran down left edge looking for first letter and only looked along the line on matching ones, now you have to look along and skim down middle (harder) or properly focus on all with right country.
Vital seconds will be lost

No problems with "tidying up" thread titles for snow reports.
Although making one of them Mexico: was a bit childish

There is merit in moving the country name to the right-hand end of the name.
