Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Morzine, insurance and EHIC

After nearly four years I'm able to hit the pistes again! Very Happy I might even remember how to ski down them too! Laughing

I've kept my DogTag insurance renewed so I'm covered for the usual holiday mishaps.

I've heard some resorts have rather draconian polices regarding emergency healthcare eg. cash only etc. Is Morzine one of these? Do I need to buy their own insurance when I buy my liftpass?

And finally EHIC - since it's free, I suppose there's no reason NOT to get a card. I've not needed one before since all my other trips have been out of Europe.

Definitely get EHIC as it will get back money for small bits and pieces that may be below your insurance excess.

DogTag should be fine for cover up on the mountain but I have heard of people in Morzine / Avoriaz being asked to prove they are covered before being scooped off the mountain.

Tomsk, cool. Get an EHIC, daft not to. Not heard the PDS pisteurs being draconian, but a few years since I last had to use their services.

Tomsk, the policy I have (American Express) gives a discount if you have the EHIC and use it as appropriate.
