Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Im living in Bern at the moment & I posted this on the Jungfrau thread but thought it should warrant seperate topic.

I went upto the Titlis Glaicer yesterday, fantastic sunny day. No snow yet folks !

The railway upto Engelberg is OUT. It is a train from Lucern then change to a Bus at Dallinwil for continuation to Engelberg.

The main highway has completely gone just below Engelberg.

They have re-routed the road through the upper part of the town basically piling up a tempory road foundation to about 20-30 metres high & across the railway severing the line in half.

The road is Trafic Light controlled one way only! There were Q's. They are rebuilding the main highway but this involves concrete stilts etc and from what i could see IMHO there is NO Way that this will be completed in the next few weeks.

Sidenote: I also heard some Swedish ski bums allready in town asking for work !

Im not planning any more trips over there. Any info I get from now on will be from Swiss Papers or News So my advice would be to check with the Swiss automobil association . Not sure of there site or Engelberg website (doubt they will admit its bad)
