Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Helmet & chin guards

Does anyone know if you can fit a chin guard to a Cebe freestyle helmet?
And if so, what type of chin guard?
This is for a child who wants to do racing and has a cebe freestyle helmet.

I've got an adult size Cebe freestyle - suppose it's the same one - and no, you can't.

Racing what, slalom, GS? My daughter has more than one helmet anyway because it's a hassle unscrewing the slalom chin guard when she's doing GS and superG. (These days it's considered dangerous having a helmet with a chin guard for the speed disciplines - superG, and some even suggest GS as well).

PG,
Slalom on dendrix.
I've seen some of the child slalom racers and they travel down the slope at frightening speeds they can pass me even when I am running my skis straight down the fall-line. I thought with my extra mass I would have more momentum, but I guess that the extra mass also increases the friction on the slope so the net effect is I am slower.

We had a discussion about this a while back here:
http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?p=67123

The conclusion being that lighter racers, all other factors being equal, are penalised to an extent .... (sorry for the over-simplification of the learned debate in that thread!)

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

You just need to check whther the helmet has the holes in it for the screws for the guard ...

poma, yes but if it's the same as mine it's the 'freestyle' one with flexible/removable ear pads, not meant to take chin guards.
