Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Footbeds for Teens?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I took a bit of a punt and bought my daughter a pair of Tecnica Team Super boots a couple of years ago from S&R online. I think they were near the top of their kids range and were heavily discounted. She was 12 then and her feet had nearly stopped growing and 2 years later the size 5's (there's no mondo size shown but they are 286mm) are a pretty close fit (although I haven't done a shell check wink ) I think the boots will probably last until she gets a bit heavier and moves into a woman's boot. Her skiing is now getting pretty advanced and I was wondering whether a pair of off the peg footbeds (they've still got the originals in) would be beneficial? If the advice is that they would I'll probably go along to the shop at my local dry slope (Tallington) to get them fitted.

Colin B, no problem using an off the peg footbed, it will probably make the boot fit a little better and feel more comfortable as well as possibly improving her feel to the edge of the ski, just make sure they are sized to her feet and not just grabbed form the rack as the sizes on some footbeds are a bit random, and often they are actually fitted to the heel width and arch length rather than anything else

CEM, Thanks. they do fit boots at Tallington so I should at least be able to get help with that.

After less than impressive advice from Tallington we got some from Lockwoods as I had to get my boots looked at there anyway. They measured her feet/boots properly and fitted some Superfeet Berry for her. She tried them out last month in Tignes and they certainly seem to help her skiing, even less chance of me getting anywhere near her now.
