Poster: A snowHead
|
Am looking to book something for the week before the family bash (we are planning on driving so we get the eurotunnel thrown in and can get around in case of bad snow!)
Am torn between AdH (staying in Vaujany) and La Tania. Since I am almost certainly going to be on my own with my two boys I will probably go for La Tania as runs higher up are not all black.
Snow quality will be a gamble so high is good. We stayed in Val Cenis last year and that is quite high (and windy) but the drive is a long one and did I mention I will be on my own with two small boys?
Any ideas?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

AndrewBailey, these guys in La Tania are good, went with them for about 6 years on the trot, snow was never an issue, was always able to ski back down to La Tania http://www.familyfriendlyskiing.com/

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The other plus of La Tania is that U can ski the kids over the hill for the SFaB.
If you're worried about snow condition and altitude, Mottaret, at the top of the Meribel valley might also be worth considering?

I second Mottaret, ideal I would have thought, and on the quieter end of the market, which would suit?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Yes - good access to a variety of slopes from Mottaret.

La Tania holds its snow well. Its north facing and tree lined so the sunshine stays off the slopes v Mottaret which gets the morning and afternoon sun on each side of the valley..

AndrewBailey, yes I know. That's why I'm saying, you can just ski them over the hill into Val T: it's the short route
