Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

am currently sitting at breakfast before day 4 of 6 begins around the 4 valleys here in Verbier praying for something that is just not going to happen this week ......SNOW !!!
If you like race like conditions ( boiler plate hard ) pistes with the occasional patch of pure ice you will love ! In general from the top down if it's not north facing it will be hard packed mornings then by 2 pm 2750 down starts to slush up .
Off piste is proving a challenge, again finding the north faces is what it's about for snow with bite it's much much better than on piste but only for experts . South facing slopes are ridable from 1pm for about 11/2 hrs whilst the sun softens the crust . Watch out for rocks though !
We have seen lots of crashes on piste as skiers who can't check their speed collide with fellow skiers / boarders !
Hope this helps anyone planning a last min trip .... advice : go to Canada / USA / Japan ! Or come here and spend lots of Francs in the Farinet bar !
