Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Four Alpine World Cup races took place at the weekend. In the giant slalom in Aspen (US) on Saturday, Tessa Worley (France) came first with a time of 2:06.81. Germany took second and third place with Viktoria Rebensburg finishing in 2:06.82 and Kathrin Hölzl in 2:06.83.

In the women’s slalom race on Sunday, Sweden’s Maria Pietilae-Holmner came first with a time of, 1:46.19, followed by Maria Riesch (Germany) in 1:46.87 and Tanja Poutiainen (Finland) in 1:47.12.

At Lake Louise (Canada) on Saturday, Michael Walchhofer (Austria) became the oldest winner of a World Cup downhill with a time of 1:47.78. His team-mate, Mario Scheiber, tied with Askel Lund Svindal (Norway) in second place in 1:48.33.

Finally, on Sunday, Switzerland’s Tobias Gruenenfelder had his first ever World Cup victory in the Super-G with a time of 1:32.31. His team-mate, Carlo Janka, came second in 1:32.38 and Austria’s Romed Baumann took third place in a time of 1: 32.58.
