Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Arabba for timid skiiers

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We have just been to colfosco in alta badia and fallen in love with region. I would like to return but go somewhere slightly different so have been looking at arabba as offers some different skiing but still can access slopes around campolongo, cherz and pralongia that we loved. I have however been put off by the number of times i have read that the skiing is much more challenging than rest of the area and that alot of the slopes are in the shade! We are quite timid skiers (i skiied alot as a child but my husband has only been 3 times and kids twice) are we better sticking with corvara/colfosco/san cassiano? Many thanks

@Holidayqueen, yes it is more challenging with quite a few North facing slopes. You might think about Seiseralm, which is gentle with great views and mountain huts.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Holidayqueen, Arabba is on the Sella Ronda with all the easy blue and red runs that that brings with it.

The steep / shady stuff is on the other side of the hill on the Portovescovo mountain, no need to worry about that

+1, also steepness is a relative term, the steeper options nearby are not wicked merely steeper than the numerous gentler slopes in the area. Tis also a good starting point for some options off the main circuit. Enjoy!
